The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure
PIANC, established in Brussels in 1885 under the name of “Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses”, is a global organisation providing guidance and technical advice for sustainable waterborne transport infrastructure to ports and waterways.
PIANC unites the international experts for technical, economic, and environmental topics related to waterborne transport. Our members include national governments and public authorities, corporations, industry and academic experts and young professionals.
The German PIANC Section – one of the first sections of PIANC – looks after the affairs of the German members and is the link to the PIANC HQ in Brussels. There are currently around 119 individual and 16 corporate members in Germany.
